Access to Kea and the Villas is easy and thrifty, a major advantage when planning a family vacation or you want to arrive easily and quickly to your relax destination, with little to worry on the way and lots left to spend on your vacation.
Access to Kea can be by road or plane and then by ferry boat to the island.
If you are coming with your own car, follow the Attiki Odos Athens peripheral road (tolls apply €2.8) to its end, merging eventually into the Markopoulio-Sounio highway at the level of the city of Markopoulo and continuing straight until you reach the town of Lavrio where the port is (see later). Easy!
There is no airport on Kea but the island is served well with numerous scheduled and chartered flights by the Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos, which is not very far away at all.
If you arrive by plane, hiring a car at the Athens airport, notably a small 4X4, is strongly recommended and less expensive than finding transportation on the island which is both more expensive anymore difficult to reserve.
From the airport, you have to travel some 25km south-east from the airport or 35-40 mins travel towards the new port of the city of Lavrio on the south-east side of the Attiki prefecture.
If you do not hire your own car you can hire a taxi (around €50 for 2 people with luggage) or take the bus INTO Athens and then out to Lavrio. Unfortunately the rail connecting the port to the airport was never competed.
From Lavrio, ferry boats leave on a daily basis, several times a day, their schedules varying seasonally. The crossing to Kea takes only approximately 75 minutes.
When we have your confirmed booking and travel details with us, we will make your ferry bookings for you and your tickets will be waiting for you in your name at the port agency, we will let you know which one!
ATTENTION! If you purchased Ferry tickets online please have a printout of the receipt or the booking number. If We at Kastellakia made a reservation for you, you will have to purchase your tickets (using the reservation number we sent you via email) with cash, credit cards are not usually accepted due to time constraints (long lines, people waiting to get on the boat that leaves at a specific time) so have at least ? 90 with you to pay for your tickets each way (family of 4 plus car)
Have a safe trip!
